Lightning McQueen knows where you live
Apologies for the gross oversight earlier..I forgot to include a video. Why don’t you enjoy suffer through The Boy’s favorite video right now?
We took The Boy to see his first ever movie in a theater last weekend. It was Cars 2 and if our experience was any indication, we don’t plan to attend another movie for a long, long time.
It’s not that the movie was bad* or that it was overpriced^. It’s that he did everything he could to act like a maniac for most of the movie. Jumping up and down in the aisles, talking loudly, making loud noises and screaming at the movie screen, and also rapidly vacillating between hating and loving the movie, often in a span of 60 seconds between the two ends of the spectrum.
It needs to be said though, that in the grand scheme of things, it was completely worth it. I mean, movies are great right? It’s hard to beat completely unplugging in a movie theater for an hour or so and getting blasted with noises and pictures. That’s pretty good copywriting no? They should hire me to write their next ad for TV. It might go something like this,
“NOISES! LOUD NOISES! MUSIC! LOUD MUSIC! PICTURES! IN VIBRANT 3-D! IN YOUR FACE! IN! YOUR! FACE!!!”
and scene.
Admit it, you want to go to the movies now don’t you!
(that’s sign language for you)And just for the record, I did this. Admit it, you’re jealous.
______________________________________________________________________________________________ *It wasn’t a bad movie but if you’ve seen it you would understand that the plot of the movie couldn’t possibly make sense to a kid. It was like a spy movie disguised as a cartoon and also completely unlike the first movie. I was kind of expecting another movie like the first, similar to what was done with Toy Story. ^Just chalk this up to another “The Rent is Too *** High!” diatribe. Don’t you love that guy by the way? But seriously..the matinee price for a movie ticket is now $7.50? Whatever happened to the matinee being a bargain or good deal?
